Staffing
PIGDStaff are recruited locally. The recruited staffs have to go through series of training sessions to equip them with the skills to work effectively in the field unsupervised. As at 31.12.2019, the breakdown of the staff strength in four of her departments namely; Programs, M&E, Account & Admin and Vocational Skill Unit is as follows:

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2019
Prime Initiative for Green Development and Development as a youth orientated organization who is a leader in the fight for youth Environmental education and empowerment, participated on the year celebration by organizing a focus group discussion with our community members to discussed and interact based on the community we are working with encourage them to look beyond where they were today and also to continue to maintained health living by observing the Sustainable Development Goals. The youth is leading the change, and international youth day ensures that they have the ability, skill, motivation and recognition to continue to do so. The event was attended by 22 youths, 18 male and 6 females. The participants engaged in games like Table tennis, Ludo. It was a successful and educative activity.


World Environment Day 5th June
The Prime Initiative for Green Development Team joined the rest of the World in commemorating the World EnvironmentDay celebration. The event which started at 11:30 am with a 1hour GREEN Walkand ended by 2pm was attended by forty six (46) participants. The program of event include; Community dialogue on Environmental Pollution, Environmental sustainability awareness, Climate Change and Environmental Human Rights as a key note address delivered by the Community Development Chairman (CDC) who also doubles as the youth head/leader, a welcome address was delivered by the ED Prime Initiative for Green Development, Opening Speech by the Program Officer, goodwill message was delivered by the Strategic Information Officer. The event was the 7th World EnvironmentDay celebration to be commemorated by the PIGD community in Rivers.


GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE 2019
The Prime Initiative for Green Development Team joined the rest of the World in commemorating the Climate Strike Event. The aim of the event was to raise awareness on the plight of Climate Change. The event which started at 09:30 am with a 2hours CLIMATE WALK from Port Harcourt to Isaac-Boropark the event centre, To pass on the information to the participants, a carefully thought-out agenda was developed. The activities conducted include: address on the significant of the celebration to rivers state and the world at large, talks and speech were delivered by various volunteers and supporters. This was brought to an end at about 2pm and was attended by Nine hundred and sixty (960) participants. The program of event include; youth demonstration onEnvironmental cleanliness, Environmental sustainability awareness, youth involvement in Climate Change awareness and Roles of Government in Climate Change as a key note address delivered by the Rivers Commissioner for environment. A welcome address was delivered by the ED Prime Initiative for Green Development; Opening Speech by the Program Officer, goodwill message was delivered by the supporter 350.org.
Objectives
- To create awareness on climate crisis
- To educate the communicate members on effect of climate change
- Enhance Community participation in preservation of the environment To educate and communicate the community members on the effect of climate change

- To advocate for youth involvement to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs)



World Clean up Day at Port Harcourt Tourist Beach Sept 2019
Prime Initiative for Green Development collaborate with the government of Nigeria through partnership with other CBOs to enlighten the rivers state populace and we carried out a practical sessions by Cleaning the Port Harcourt Beach as a team with over 363 participants in attendance.

Our organization chose to direct the seminar this year, at Secondary students, firstly because they represent the future of our nation in the hope for a pollution free environment. And secondly it is believed that a seminar of this nature will form a part of their education early in life, enabling them to become aware of their environment and in future make decisions that would protect the environment.
There were varies government agencies and their representative in attendance including, the state ministry of Environment and public utility.
