TOWN HALL MEETING ON THE IMPACT OF BLACK SOOT IN ABULOMA COMMUNITY RIVERS STATE 2019

Town Hall Meeting on the Impact of black soot is a one-day community dialogue meeting with
stakeholders from Abuloma community in Port Harcourt City Local Government area of
Rivers State. Black Soot is one of the major air pollutant in Rivers State and as such is in line
Prime Initiative for Green Development (PIGD) utilizing the opportunity of this project to sensitize and
dialogue with the rural community members on their roles and responsibilities as it concerns the
environmental pollutions (SOOT) in their community and how they can become an advocate for
climate friendly environment.
The various individuals to participate in the community dialogue meeting will become the
community champion for green development, enhancing the contribution and impact of the local
residents through their various networks and constituencie

The target audience for the Town Hall Meeting was community members drawn from the youth
organizations, women, traditional leaders and farmers (Fishermen/women) from ABULOMA
community in Port Harcourt City Local Government area of Rivers State.

The objectives of the project are;
1) To educate the communicate members on effect of climate change
2) To educate the community members the effect on Soot on environment
3) To dialogue and to identify the sources of black soot
4) Enhance Community participation in preservation of the environment
5) To educate the community on the new sustainable development goal (SDG)
