To address these shortcomings, FBOs and community engagements are crucial towards facilitating and leveraging Faith for Climate Justice; a response to the climate crisis through engaging the faith community in addressing climate issues, mobilising the power and influence of faith leaders and communities particularly at a grassroots level, identifying critical challenges and providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and learning locally regionally and globally.
The dialogue aim to facilitate the exchange of views/knowledge and develop common ground to mobilize creative solutions to environmental challenges in Nigeria. The consultative dialogues will also ensure that FBOs and CBOs engagements organised through several conferences, dialogues, and capacity building workshops are more coordinated under an empowered and strengthened Prime Initiative for Green Development (PIGD).
To achieve these objectives; adapt and mitigate climate change, there is an urgent need for the promotion of concrete, immediate and bold action at all levels.
Chief Emma Pii, the Secretary-General Bodo Council of chiefs gave his opening remark at the ongoing National Consultative Dialogue on Faith and Climate Justice.
